The three best garden hose consumer reports that I have read have to be The Complete Gardener’s Guide and Gardening for Beginners by John and Mary Mullet. The Complete Gardener’s Guide is a little more in-depth and has a lot of pictures, so it’s definitely more up-to-date.
The other part of the guide that I found to be useful is the Gardening for Beginners section. This is basically a “how-to” for growing your own organic food. The book is written by a guy who grew up in the country and is a self-described gardener and home-fertilizer fanatic. John and Mary Mullet are the two main guys in the whole thing.
For gardeners, the two main things to remember in the guide are to use organic seeds and to grow your food organically. I’ve found that a lot of gardeners don’t realize that organic seeds are available, but to get a really good deal on organic seeds, you can buy them at your local garden center.
Many garden stores don’t carry organic seeds, so I’d advise buying them online. I am in no way against organic food. I am, however, against buying something that comes from a company that is not going to give you a warranty. And I think that if you’re going to buy something that is not organic, it might as well be organically grown.
I have been shopping online for several years now and have not found an organic seed that I have liked. However, I have found some great deals. In the past three months I have purchased several organic seed varieties for my garden. My last purchase was a packet of peas from a local nursery. It was purchased for $11.25, the same price as the organic seed store online. The company was nice enough to ship the seeds to my house, but the shipment was not insured.
The company is now no longer in business, but they took this opportunity to send me a letter about what they found online. It is not an exact picture of the peas, but it is a good picture of their organic seed variety. They are growing a different variety of peas, but they say that it is the same variety. They recommend the other variety for my garden because it is slightly different from the variety I purchased. The letter also states that they will no longer sell the seed online.
So if you want a new hose, buy from the company that can’t even say what they are selling.

These are the same folks who sell you weed eater spray. The same people who sell you a gas can at a garage sale. The same people who sell you a video game for 50 dollars. These companies are not in business to sell you a hose. They are in business to sell you a lot of different products and services.
