One of the most frustrating parts about the current state of household appliances is that they are all so similar and so very poorly manufactured. It’s like a product that is only as good as the packaging it comes in. The consumer reports website is designed to be a consumer’s point of view. So they only show you what they find “best” or “worst”. So if you buy an appliance and it breaks in half and you have to replace it yourself, the consumer reports website would show you the same model, it would show how bad it was, but it would not tell you what you should do.
That’s why I hate it. I’m not saying there isn’t anything wrong with the consumer reports model, but it does have the potential to be misleading at best. If I bought a product, for instance, and it was a bad-quality product, then that model could be a poor indicator of the value of the product. The same goes for the internet.
Consumers make mistakes, and they can be forgiven and taught how to use the internet properly, and still there are plenty of mistakes and things that can be learned about how to do things properly. But when it comes to the internet, if you’re not careful, you could unknowingly be giving your computer an unfair advantage over others, and that is something that can easily be corrected by the manufacturer, not the consumer.
I would think the same about the internet. If you know how to use it, it is a tool that can be used by quite a few people, and there is no reason that it would be a better tool for one person than another. The internet is not perfect, and it has room for improvement, but when it comes to the internet, I suspect that the manufacturer of the internet has no idea what theyre doing.
